Grand Celebration Marks Annual Function at Army Public School, Meerut Cantt

Meerut Cantt : Army Public School, Meerut Cantt celebrated its Annual Function with splendour and cultural vibrancy at the school’s direction ground on Thursday. This year’s theme, “Genesis – Soaring on Wings of Wisdom,” encapsulated the profound philosophy that education is a holistic journey nurturing the body, mind, intellect, energy, and inner bliss.

Dignified Inauguration Sets the Tone

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chief Guest Major General Sumrit Rana, GOC Headquarters Western UP Sub Area, Meerut Cantt; Mrs. Renu Rana, Chairperson FWO; School Chairman Brigadier Ashish Deshpande, DGOC Headquarters Western UP Sub Area; and Principal Dr. Rita Gupta. Their presence, along with that of senior officials, parents, and students, elevated the occasion’s grandeur.

In her annual report, Principal Dr. Rita Gupta reviewed the school’s outstanding academic, cultural, and co-curricular accomplishments. said Dr. Gupta, adding that the school continues its commitment to holistic development rooted in strong moral and cultural foundations.

The Chief Guest and School Chairman felicitated meritorious students from Classes X and XII, along with distinguished alumni who have secured placements in premier higher education institutions. The proud smiles of the awardees reflected the school’s academic ethos and culture of excellence.

A Spectacular Cultural Showcase

The cultural presentations were the highlight of the evening. Students enacted the concept of Panchkosha—Annamaya, Pranamaya, Manomaya, Vigyanamaya, and Anandamaya—illustrating education’s multifaceted role in human evolution.
Through dance, drama, music, creative narration, and even robotics, students depicted the journey from early childhood to youth, weaving a narrative that blended tradition with modernity.

The Anandamaya segment, symbolizing the sheath of bliss, delivered a moving message that true happiness lies in compassion, service, and love.

Chief Guest’s Inspirational Message

Addressing the gathering, Major General Sumrit Rana urged students to uphold discipline, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
He remarked that the ultimate aim of education is to create aware, sensitive, and responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society and the nation.

School Chairman Brigadier Ashish Deshpande praised the students as future nation builders, emphasizing that education must inspire young minds toward patriotism, integrity, and public service.
