Computer Training Center Busted in Meerut for Running Flesh Trade Under Cover; 12 Arrested, Including 9 Women

Meerut: In a shocking revelation, police in Meerut’s Nauchandi police station area uncovered an illegal sex racket being run under the guise of a computer training center. The raid, conducted late Saturday evening at the Samrat Shopping Complex on Garh Road, exposed how the so-called computer institute, operating under the name Effable Designs, was actually a front for an illicit spa and prostitution business.
The Raid and Arrests
According to police reports, the center was outwardly presented as a hub for computer training and job work, complete with banners and wall posters advertising laptop and software courses. However, when police teams entered the premises, they found a completely different reality.
The raid led to the arrest of 12 individuals, including 9 young women, 3 customers, and the alleged mastermind and center owner, Rajbir Singh. All were taken into custody and transported to the local police station in two vehicles.
Online Supply and Modus Operandi
Locals revealed that the racket operated on an online demand system, supplying women through bookings arranged via social media platforms. Customers were sent photographs of women in advance, and deals were finalized digitally before meetings were arranged at the so-called computer training center.
Shockingly, this raid comes only days after police busted a similar prostitution racket in Kabadi Bazaar, where 58 kothas (brothels) had been officially shut down in 2019 following a High Court order. Despite the restrictions, operators had resumed illegal activities, often under the cover of permitted cultural performances like mujras.
Blackmailing and Exploitation
Police sources further revealed that the gang behind this racket also indulged in blackmailing clients and women. Covert cameras were allegedly used to record intimate moments, and victims were later blackmailed into compliance under the threat of exposure.
Many women, police noted, were coerced into continuing the illegal work to avoid public shame, highlighting the deep-rooted exploitation involved.
Widening Crackdown
The raid at the Samrat Shopping Complex followed similar action at another spa center near PVS Mall, where police found posters of Buddha outside but women’s photographs displayed inside—a clear signal of dubious operations.
Civil Lines Circle Officer Abhishek Tiwari, who personally oversaw the raid, confirmed the arrests and stated:
“We have arrested 12 individuals, including 9 women and the center owner Rajbir Singh. A full investigation is underway to trace the entire network. This is only the beginning—our teams will continue to keep a close watch on spas, parlors, and other suspicious establishments in the city.”
Police also raided other floors of the shopping complex to ensure no additional illegal activities were being carried out under different covers.
Looking Ahead
Authorities have intensified surveillance on spa centers, beauty parlors, and computer training centers across Meerut to ensure no further misuse of legitimate businesses for immoral activities. The case underscores the growing trend of cyber-enabled trafficking, where social media and online platforms are increasingly being misused for solicitation and exploitation.
The arrests have been registered under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other applicable laws. All detainees are currently under interrogation, and police are confident more arrests will follow as the investigation widens.
