Cleaner Found Dead in Freight Lift at Patel Nagar Banquet Hall, Police Probe Underway

Ghaziabad: A 24-year-old sanitation worker was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a banquet hall in Patel Nagar, triggering concern among locals and prompting an investigation by the police and forensic experts.

The deceased was discovered trapped inside a goods-carrying lift (freight elevator) at the Red Velvet Banquet Hall, officials said. He has been identified as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Bhatail village in Hapur district.

Police, forensic team rush to spot

As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police and a forensic team reached the banquet hall and began examining the site. The body was found stuck in the lift used for transporting materials and supplies within the premises.

According to preliminary information, Rajesh, the banquet hall manager, informed the police about the incident at around 11 am on Friday.

Investigation underway from all angles

Police officials said the matter is being investigated from all possible angles, including workplace safety lapses, accidental death, and other circumstances that may have led to the fatality. Statements of staff members are expected to be recorded as part of the inquiry.
