Army Officer’s Wife Alleges Assault, Harassment; Approaches SSP Seeking Action

  • Claims physical abuse during pregnancy, misuse of forged documents; case from Kotwali area

Meerut.
In a serious case of alleged domestic violence and harassment, the wife of a Lieutenant Colonel approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office with a formal complaint, accusing her husband of physical abuse and sustained mental harassment. The matter pertains to the Kotwali police station area.

According to the complaint submitted by the woman, she has been subjected to repeated acts of violence and intimidation by her husband and his family members. She alleged that her husband prepared forged documents and misused them to harass and control her. The complainant further claimed that the abuse continued despite her vulnerable condition.

In a particularly grave allegation, the woman stated that she was kicked in the abdomen while she was seven months pregnant, endangering both her life and that of the unborn child. She described the incident as part of a pattern of cruelty and neglect, alleging that she has been continuously victimized within the marital household.

Seeking justice, the victim met senior police officials and requested strict legal action against the accused. She urged the police to conduct a fair investigation and ensure her safety.

Police officials said that the complaint has been received and that the matter will be examined in accordance with the law. Further action will be taken after preliminary inquiry and verification of the allegations.

The case has raised concerns over domestic violence and the need for prompt legal intervention, particularly when allegations involve severe physical harm and document fraud.
