Ghaziabad : In Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, the police have arrested a man for getting a nine-year-old boy to be circumcised according to Muslim customs. Police said that though the accused Umar Mohammad claimed to have adopted the child, he could not produce valid documents related to the adoption.
Mohammad, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, said he had adopted the child from his foster parents Mithilesh and Soni on June 7. The couple had been taking care of the boy’s mother since her death. The boy’s mother Anshu, who hails from Bihar, died when he was very young. Since then, husband and wife named Mithlesh and Soni were taking care of him.
After some time both these husband and wife gave the child to Umar Mohammad. According to a report, Umar Mohammad was continuously torturing the child. The child was beaten up daily. It is also claimed to have found injury marks on his body. Some people claim that they forbade Umar to convert the child, but he did not agree. The complaint of this entire matter to the Ghaziabad Police was done through a tweet. After this the police got the child rescued.
It is being told that Mohammad Umar alias Zulfiqar had adopted the child only through a notary. Whereas according to the rules, a child can be adopted only by applying on the website of the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA). On Thursday (9 June 2022), the child has been sent to the Child Protection Home by the Child Welfare Committee. Counseling of the child is also being done. It is reported that after the statement of the child in the court, the section of human trafficking can also be increased against the accused.
